Africa’s Primeval Oceans

The scene is the southern tip of Africa. Just off shore, two very different seas meet to form one of the most diverse marine environments on earth. The meeting of icy Atlantic and warm Indian waters not only affect life underwater, they are giant forces that shape the land, climate, and all its creatures. The Portuguese explorer Bartholomew Dias and his crew called it the Cape of Storms.
