From Hell to Heaven: When the Coal Mines Close

In the far south east of Germany lies the small land of a thousand lakes: Lusatia. Many rare animals reside here, but only a few kilometers away, decades of coal mining have left behind giant slag heaps and mine lakes which drastically affected the ecosystem.
